Write the rows
A name or a number, the line it came in on, and a time. Numbers are fine and get the grey silhouette.
Set which way each call went
INCOMING or OUTGOING, VIDEO or not, and NO ANSWER for the ones that never connected.
Add day headings
Type one on the first row of each group — Today, Older, or a date.
Export

How the Android interface is put together
Our Android skin is rebuilt from the real interface in code rather than traced from a screenshot, so the details that make it recognisable survive at export resolution. Here is what those details actually are.
Red means you MISSED something, not just that it did not connect
The rule that is easy to get backwards, and it is narrower than it looks. An incoming call nobody answered is red. A call YOU placed that rang out is an ordinary grey row, because you did not miss it — you made it. Both states are here and they draw differently.
The time is on the SECOND line, not out on the right
A chat list puts the timestamp in a right-hand column. Recents joins it to the rest of the description with a middle dot — Mobile · Now, Video · Mobile · 5 hr — and spends the right-hand column on a call-back button instead.
An arrow opens that line
Up-and-right for a call you placed, down-and-left for one you received, and it goes red with the row when you missed it. Between the arrow and the colour, a call log tells you all four states without a single word.
A number instead of a name gets the person glyph
Half the rows in a real call log are numbers nobody has saved. Initialising a phone number would give you punctuation, so a name with no letters in it falls back to a grey silhouette — which is what the phone does.
Day headings, and you write them
Today, Older, Yesterday, whatever you need. They are typed rather than worked out, because the time on a row is free text — 5 hr and Jan 17 are both valid and no rule can read a day out of them without deciding what you are allowed to write.
A blue keypad button and four tabs
Favorites, Recents, Contacts and Voicemail, with the keypad floating clear of them. Not three tabs and not five — the count is part of what makes it Google's dialer rather than somebody's messenger.

Questions about Android mockups
- How do I make a missed call?
- Turn on NO ANSWER and leave the row set to INCOMING. The name and the arrow both go red. Switch the same row to OUTGOING and the red disappears — a call you placed that rang out is not a call you missed, and no phone draws it that way.
- Can I show video calls?
- Yes. The VIDEO toggle puts Video at the front of the second line and swaps the call-back button on the right for a camcorder, which is what Recents does.
- Why do I have to type the day headings?
- Because the time on a row is free text, and it has to be — Now, 5 hr and Jan 17 are all things the real screen shows. Working a day out of that would mean restricting what you can type, so the heading is a field instead. Leave it empty on a row and it joins the group above.
- Can I repeat the same number down the list?
- Yes, and it is one of the examples. Six attempts from one unknown number in a morning is the shape people screenshot when they are documenting nuisance calls.
- Which Android is this?
- Google's own Phone app, which is what ships on Pixel and many other handsets. Samsung's dialer looks quite different, so this draws the one there is a first-party reference for rather than an average of them all.
- Can I make it look like a real person or company called me?
- No, and our terms prohibit it. A fabricated call record naming a real person or business is exactly the kind of thing our terms exist to stop. Parody, teaching, fiction and design work are fine — every example here uses invented names and numbers from the reserved 555 range.
- Does dark mode work?
- Yes. The switch moves the whole screen onto Material's dark surface, search field and tab bar included.
