RedditReddit mockups

Fake Reddit post & r/ mockup generator

Build a Reddit post the way the app draws one — the subreddit and its Join pill across the top, the author demoted to a grey u/name, a bold title carrying the whole post, flair and NSFW tags, and the segmented upvote pill with its score. Text post or image post, both real.

The AITA post

A self-post asking a community to judge a small domestic disaster — the shape of Reddit post everyone recognises.

A scam warning

The kind of post communities pin: someone describing the message they nearly fell for, so nobody else does.

How to make a Reddit mockup

  1. Start from an example

The three above are the shapes Reddit posts come in: a discussion self-post, an image post, and a community warning.

  2. Set the community

Type the subreddit without the r/ — it is added for you — and the username without the u/. Both appear in the header.

  3. Write the title

This is the post. Long is fine; Reddit titles wrap to three or four lines all the time and the layout expects it.

  4. Add the body or the image

Text under the title makes it a self-post. An image in the Media section makes it a link post. Then set the flair and the NSFW tag if you need them.

  5. Score it and export

Upvotes and comment count are free text. Full-height PNG at 1x free, up to 3x on Pro, device frame optional.

How the Reddit interface is put together

Our Reddit skin is rebuilt from the real interface in code rather than traced from a screenshot, so the details that make it recognisable survive at export resolution. Here is what those details actually are.

A Reddit post is addressed to a PLACE

r/subreddit is the top line, with the community's icon beside it and a Join pill on the right. The author is demoted to a small grey u/name below. Every other feed in this tool leads with the person — Instagram, X, Threads, Bluesky all put a display name and a handle at the top. Lead with the person here and you have made a screenshot of something else.

The title carries the post, not the picture

Bold, larger than everything else, above the body. That inversion is most of why a Reddit screenshot looks like Reddit: the eye lands on a sentence, not on an image. It is also why the title is its own field rather than being folded into the caption — no other post format here has one at all.

Votes are a segmented pill, not a heart

An up arrow, the score, a down arrow, all inside one rounded capsule. Upvote it and the whole pill turns Reddit orange with the arrow and number in white. A heart with a number beside it is Instagram's shape and the fastest way to make a Reddit mockup look wrong.

Self-post or link post — both are real

Leave the image out and you get a text post: the title, then grey body text under it. Add one and the picture replaces the body. That is the actual distinction Reddit makes, and both shapes are worth having, because the discussion posts people screenshot are usually text.

Flair is a pill; NSFW is its own tag

Flair sits under the title in a soft grey capsule — Discussion, OC, Serious, whatever the community uses. NSFW is a separate red badge. The NSFW tag draws the badge and deliberately does not blur the image: a blurred mockup is a picture of nothing.

No awards, and that is on purpose

Reddit removed coins and awards in 2023, so the gold and silver icons are gone from the app. Drawing them would date a screenshot to a version that no longer exists, which is the same class of error as a wrong verification tick.

Questions about Reddit mockups

Why is there a title field here and not on the other post generators?
Because Reddit is the only one with a title. Instagram, X, Facebook and the rest have a caption and nothing above it. The field is hidden on those platforms rather than shown and ignored.
How do I make a text post instead of an image post?
Leave the Media section empty. The body text you type appears under the title in grey, which is exactly what a self-post looks like. Add an image and the picture takes its place.
Can I set the upvote count?
Yes — it is free text, so 14.2k, 847 and 38.6k all work. Reddit abbreviates with a lowercase k and this tool does not force a format on you, because the exact rounding differs between the app and the site.
Where are the awards?
Reddit deleted them in 2023 along with coins, so the app does not draw them any more and neither does this. A screenshot with a gold award on it is a screenshot from a version that no longer exists.
Does the NSFW switch blur the image?
No. It adds the red NSFW tag under the title. Blurring the picture would leave you with a mockup of a grey rectangle, which is not what anybody is making one for.
Can I make a post for a real subreddit or a real user?
Communities are fine to name — r/AskUK is a place, not a person. Putting words in a real account's mouth is not, and our terms prohibit it. Every example on this page uses invented usernames.
Is there a comments version?
Yes, and it is a separate page because it is a separate screen. The comment generator draws the threaded view with indent rails, the OP tag and per-comment scores.

Use these responsibly

Everything made here is simulated. SocialMock has no connection to Reddit and cannot read, send or alter a real message. Do not use a mockup to impersonate anyone, pass it off as a genuine screenshot, or present it as evidence in any legal, workplace or academic matter — see our Acceptable Use policy. For general information about legal risk, read is it legal to fake a screenshot? If you publish somewhere a viewer might mistake it for real, switch on the “Simulated” label before exporting.
