Set the contact
Signal's header is deliberately plain — back, avatar, name, call buttons. There's no badge and no decoration, so the name and the optional subtitle carry the whole thing.
Write the messages
Click a bubble and type. Signal puts a small timestamp inside every message rather than only under the last one, so each bubble reserves room for it automatically.
Try dark mode
Signal's dark theme is a very dark grey rather than pure black, which softens the contrast against the blue. It's a per-phone toggle in the editor, independent of the site's own theme.

How the Signal interface is put together
Our Signal skin is rebuilt from the real interface in code rather than traced from a screenshot, so the details that make it recognisable survive at export resolution. Here is what those details actually are.
Signal blue is flatter and cooler
A flat, cool blue — no gradient, no shine. Signal's visual language is deliberately plain, and mockups that add a gradient immediately look like a different app.
Timestamps sit inside every bubble
Unlike iMessage, Signal shows a small time inside each message rather than only under the last one, in a translucent white on outgoing bubbles.
The palette is nearly monochrome
Beyond the blue, Signal is white and greys. That restraint is the identity - extra colour reads as wrong.
Dark mode is grey, not black
Signal uses a very dark grey rather than iOS-style pure black, which softens the contrast against bubbles.
The header is minimal
Back chevron, avatar, name, then video and audio call. No badges, no status decoration beyond an optional subtitle.
The composer is a plain pill
A plus on the left, then a rounded field with camera and mic - no sticker or GIF shortcuts.

- Laws vary by jurisdiction and use. Clearly fictional, disclosed mockups are generally lower risk, but no category is automatically legal. Impersonating someone, presenting a mockup as genuine, or using it as evidence violates our terms and may be unlawful.
